Upgrade the Secure Tunnel

This topic describes the procedure for upgrading the Connector Secure Tunnel.

The procedure for upgrading the Secure Tunnel depends on your current Secure Tunnel installed version. Before starting the upgrade, check your Secure Tunnel version, as described below.

 

You can upgrade the Secure Tunnel at any time, regardless of whether the Privilege Cloud backend has been upgraded to the latest version or not.

Check your Secure Tunnel version

On the Secure Tunnel desktop, hover over the PrivilegeCloudSecureTunnelInstaller icon.

Upgrade the Secure Tunnel

Select your version to display the relevant procedure.

To upgrade the Secure Tunnel for v2.0.3 and later:

CyberArk automatically saves your configuration, so there is no need for you to manually save it.

  1. Download the latest Secure Tunnel file from the CyberArk marketplace software area.

  2. Copy the Secure Tunnel installation file to the connector machine.

  3. Run the installation exe file. This upgrades the Secure Tunnel version and saves your existing configuration.

  4. You can update the Secure Tunnel configuration for any required changes, as described in Install and configure Secure Tunnel.

To upgrade the Secure Tunnel for v1.0.6 - v2.0.1:
  1. Uninstall your current Secure Tunnel version. In Add/Remove Programs uninstall PrivilegeCloudSecureTunnel.

  2. Make sure you have a connection to the console URL. For more information, see Outbound traffic network and port requirements.

  3. Install the latest Secure Tunnel version:

    Download the latest Secure Tunnel file from the CyberArk marketplace software area. Copy the Secure Tunnel installation file to the connector machine.

  4. Double-click the Secure Tunnel installation executable file to run the installation wizard.

  5. On the Select Installation Folder page, enter the location of the installation folder and click Install.

  6. On the Authenticate to Privilege Cloud page, enter the credentials provided to you by CyberArk Support.

  7. On the Configure on-premise components page, add the components that you want to connect through the Secure Tunnel, and click Configure Components.

Verify the Secure Tunnel is functioning properly

  • In the Services list, check that the Secure Tunnel service PrivilegeCloudSecureTunnel is up and running.
