Telemetry dashboard

This topic describes how to view the Telemetry dashboard and describes the information collected by the Telemetry tool.

Access the Telemetry dashboard

 

To view the Telemetry dashboard, you must be a customer (not a partner) with a user that has full access to the CyberArk Technical Community. Full access to the CyberArk Technical Community includes access to cases.

If you do not have full access to the CyberArk Technical Community, contact the CyberArk Users Access Team to get the relevant permissions, at users.access@cyberark.com.
To display the Telemetry dashboard:

  1. In the CyberArk Technical Community, select Telemetry > Telemetry Dashboard.

  2. Optionally, if you have more than one tenant, in the Tenants to Browse section, select the tenant that you want to view. The dashboard is updated to display the data of the selected tenant.

Telemetry account information

Telemetry account information appears at the top of the dashboard, and includes the following information:

  • Tenant name. May display multiple tenants defined for your system.

  • Your CyberArk account name

  • Latest execution time of the Telemetry tool

  • Your service name and version

  • TM region indicates the AWS region that hosts the tenant

  • Telemetry tool version

Telemetry dashboard components

The Telemetry dashboard in the CyberArk Technical Community contains 20 components that visualize the information collected by the Telemetry tool using charts and bar graphs. These components are grouped into three sections so that you can quickly view related information, and gain valuable insight into user activity and credential compliance.

This section contains the next seven components on the dashboard that give more details about credential compliance, and also indicate how end users are using the Privilege Cloud solution.

Additional insights

This section contains the remaining six components on the dashboard that show information that is less frequently viewed.

Dashboard components description

The following tables describe the information each component displays, and how this information can be helpful in understanding your organization's adoption and utilization levels.

In each component, you can click the View Report link to open a detailed report about the data displayed in the component.

Activity and compliance overview

Component Description

Active EPV Users (Current)

This gauge chart displays the percentage of active users who have logged in to the Privilege Cloud solution within the last 30 days.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current adoption level.

Active EPV Users by Interactive Access (Historical)

This double-line chart displays the largest number of active users in each month who have either connected with a PSM session or retrieved a password, with historical trending over the last year.

This information is useful in understanding how the organizations' users are adopting Privilege Cloud controls over time.

EPV User Allocation (Current)

This gauge chart displays the percentage of user licenses that have been allocated, for example, assigned a license.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current utilization level.

EPV User Allocation (Historical)

This double-line chart displays the largest number of allocated users in each month compared to the total number of user licenses, with historical trending over the last year.

This information is useful in understanding how the organization is allocating their licenses over time.

Credential Compliance (Current)

This gauge chart displays the percentage of compliant credentials (per the platform/policy rules) that are managed by Privilege Cloud.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current compliance status and related risk.

Credential Compliance (Historical)

This double-line chart displays the largest number of compliant credentials in each month compared to the total number of credentials, with historical trending over the last year.

This information is useful in understanding how the organization is progressing with their compliance and related risk over time.

Component Description

Total Credentials by Platform Type (Current)

This donut chart displays the total number and percentage of accounts per target system platform type managed by the Privilege Cloud solution.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current implementation, compliance status, and related risk.

Compliant Credentials by Platform Type (Current)

This donut chart displays the number and percentage of compliant accounts per target system platform type managed by the Privilege Cloud solution.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current implementation, compliance status, and related risk.

Credential Compliance by Platform (Current)

This bar chart displays the number of compliant and total accounts per Platform ID.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current implementation, compliance status, and related risk.

Users Connected Per Platform Type (Current)

This donut chart displays the number of unique users who connected with a PSM session per the target system platform type in the last 30 days.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current usage, adoption, and maturity of the Privilege Cloud solution.

Users Retrieved Per Platform Type (Current)

This donut chart displays the number of unique users who retrieved a password per the target system platform type in the last 30 days.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current usage, adoption, and maturity of the Privilege Cloud solution.

User Activity by Platform (Current)

This bar chart displays the number of unique users who have either connected with a PSM session or retrieved a password, for each Platform ID in the last 30 days, and the total number combined.

 

This does not account for duplication of users. For example, the same user retrieved and connected.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current usage, adoption, and maturity of the Privilege Cloud solution.

Secret Activity Connect vs. Retrieval (Historical)

This double-line chart displays the number of unique secrets that were connected with a PSM session, compared to the number of unique secrets that were retrieved, with historical trending.

This information is useful in understanding how the organization is implementing Privilege Cloud controls over time.

Credential Provider Allocation (Current)

This gauge chart displays the percentage of Credential Provider licenses that have been allocated, for example, deployed a Credential Provider agent.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current utilization level.

Credential Provider Allocation (Historical)

This double-line chart displays the largest number of allocated Credential Providers compared to the total number of Credential Provider licenses in each month, with historical trending over the last year.

This information is useful in understanding how the organization is allocating their licenses over time.

Platforms with PSM Enabled (Current)

This gauge chart displays the percentage of platforms that have PSM enabled (per the platform/policy rules).

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current security controls and related risk.

Platforms with PSM Enabled (Historical)

This double-line chart displays the largest number of platforms with PSM enabled, compared to the total number of platforms in each month, with historical trending over the last year.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's current security controls and related risk over time.

PAM Discovery - Pending/Onboarded Accounts (Historical)

This double-line chart displays Discovery metrics that includes pending accounts, dependent accounts, onboarded accounts and onboarded dependent accounts.

This information is useful in understanding the organization's pending accounts and onboarding data over time.
