Manage users

This topic describes how to manage users in the Vault using the version 10 interface.

In the PVWA, you can perform the following actions to manage users in the Vault:

  • View a user's details, group membership, and Safe access

  • Edit a user's properties and information

  • Assign a user to additional groups

  • Create a new user by duplicating an existing user role

  • Remove a user from a group

  • Disable/enable a user

  • Delete a user

View user details

  1. In the PVWA, select User Provisioning > Users.

  2. In the Users list, click a user to view its details, group membership, and Safe access information.

Edit user properties and information

  1. In the PVWA, select User Provisioning > Users.

  2. In the Users list, locate the relevant user and for that user, click more options , and select Edit.

  3. Click any of the steps to change the properties or information that you want, and then click Save changes.

Assign a user to a group

  1. On the Users page, select the relevant user.

  2. Click more options , and select Assign to groups.

  3. Select the Group type that you want, or search for a specific group.

  4. Select one or more groups that you want to add this user to, and click Assign.

Create a new user by duplicating an existing user role

For users that have a custom role with specific permissions, you can create a new user with the same custom role and permissions.

  1. On the Users page, select the user with the custom role that you want to apply to a new user.

    Check the Role column to see which users have a custom role.

  2. Click more options and select Duplicate user role.

    The New CyberArk user page appears, and the Custom role is selected.

  3. Add the user properties and information and create the new user. See Add a user for more information.

Remove a user from a group

  1. On the Users page, select the relevant user, and then click the Groups membership tab.

  2. Locate the group or groups that you want to remove the user from and click Remove.

  3. Confirm that you want to remove this user from the group.

Disable/enable a user

  1. On the Users page, select the relevant user.

  2. Click more options , and select Disable/Enable.

  3. Confirm that you want to disable or enable this user.

Delete a user

  1. On the Users page, select the relevant user.

  2. Click more options , and select Delete.

  3. Confirm that you want to delete this user.
