RADIUS Authentication Messages

This page describes messages that may appear when integrating the Vault with a RADIUS server, and their recommended actions.

Invalid IP address <IP address>

Recommended Action:

Specify a valid IP address.

Invalid port <port>

Recommended Action:

Specify a valid port.

Invalid parameters

Recommended Action:

Check that the RADIUS parameters are correctly specified, then retry the operation.

Invalid host <host>

Recommended Action:

Specify a valid host.

Could not open secret file <filename>. Code <code>

Recommended Action:

Make sure the file exists and its name is spelled correctly, then retry the operation.

Could not read secret file <filename>. Code <code>

Recommended Action:

Make sure the file name is a correct RADIUS secret file, then retry the operation.

Could not decrypt secret file <filename>. Code <code>

Recommended Action:

Make sure the RADIUS file is correctly encrypted, then retry the operation

Could not encrypt secret file <filename>. Code <code>

Recommended Action:

Contact CyberArk support.

Could not backup secret file <filename>. Code <code>

Recommended Action:

Contact CyberArk support.

Could not write secret file <filename>. Code <code>

Recommended Action:

Contact CyberArk support.

Could not use secret file <filename>. Secret is too long

Recommended Action:

Contact CyberArk support.

RADIUS secret cannot be longer then <number> characters.

Recommended Action:

Use a shorter RADIUS secret.

Could not encrypt secret. Code: <code>

Recommended Action:

Internal message. Contact CyberArk support.

ITATS168I Radius server <host> resolved to <IP>.

Recommended Action:

Informational message indicating that the configured hostname or FQDN successfully resolved using the DNS Server.

ITATS169E Radius server<host> failed to resolve.

Recommended Action:

The Vault failed to resolve the configured hostname or FQDN using the DNS Server. Verify the following:

  • DNS configuration as specified in <LINK>
  • The configuration to enable DNS resolution is set in DBParm.ini. See RADIUS Authentication for more details.
