System Requirements

This topic describes the system requirements for the EPM agents that are installed on endpoints.

Supported Windows platforms

  • Windows 10 x32 & x64

  • Windows 11 x64

  • Windows Server 2016

  • Windows Server 2019

  • Windows Server 2022

Support on outdated Windows versions

Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008/R2, or Windows Server 2012/2012 R2 and this may put your workstations and servers at risk from security threats.

CyberArk strongly recommends that you upgrade your endpoint's operating system to a newer and supported Windows version as soon as possible.

CyberArk may, at its sole discretion and on a case by case basis, make commercially reasonable efforts to support EPM agents installed on outdated Windows versions.

Supported macOS platforms

  • macOS Big Sur 11.0 - EPM v11.5.1 and higher

  • macOS Monterey 12 - EPM agent 11.5.4

  • macOS Ventura 13 - EPM agent 11.5.5 and higher

CyberArk recommends always using the most updated operating system with the recommended installations.

Prerequisites

Make sure that .Net 4.6 is installed on the following platforms where the default .Net version is lower than 4.6:

  • Windows platforms lower than Win 10 (e.g., Win 7, Win 8.1).

  • Server platforms lower than Win 2016 (e.g., Win 2012 R2 and Win 2008 R2).

Module

Prerequisite

Privilege Threat Protection

  • Requires .NET 4.6 or higher installed on endpoint machines.

Credentials Rotation

  • Requires .NET 4.6 or higher installed on endpoint machines.

  • On the endpoint, make sure that the Windows "Server" service has not been disabled, and that it is running.

One-time Run Authorization tool

  • Requires .NET 3.5 or higher installed on any endpoint machine running this tool.

Offline Policy Authorization Generator tool

  • Requires .NET 4.6.1 or higher installed on any endpoint machine running the tool.

Minimum requirements

There is no minimum requirement for the endpoint machines.

On average, agents consume the following:

  • Less than 1% of CPU

  • Between 20 and 50 MB of RAM, depending on the number of policies

  • Around 100 MB of disk space

Supported processors

The EPM agent for macOS is compatible with:

  • x86-64 and x86 processors, which include Intel and VIA processors

  • ARM architecture 64-(ARM64) for Apple M1 devices

Limitations

The Threat Detection module is not supported on the following operating systems:

  • Windows XP/Vista

  • Windows Server 2003

  • macOS
